How's the rear seal?
There really shouldn't be a reason you're blowing it over the "conservative" tq rating.

my dad was asking me if i was overpowering the clutch. i would really really be supprised/happy if i was making over 450ft/lbs on my setup. the RMS was the cause of my first spec II failure. so i replaced the RMS when i got the current spec disk(the old on was soaked with oil and could not be re-used). could it be my tranny leaking onto the clutch? i would think that the FMS of the tranny is too far away to leak fluid onto the clutch but i'm willing to believe now. could it be a leaky oil pan?

take off the inspection cover and feel around in there, if you are leaking oil in there will be a coating of it all over the place.

I usually launch a little below 4k or street tires. When I would launch at 3k-ish I found that I would bog down and kill the spool time on my turbo even though its still the stocker. I found that its better to have more tire spin off the line than it is to have less tire spin and bog down because the tire spin allows the turbo get fully spooled for the 1-2 shift and I even had a few tire rotations when I hit 2nd. Launching that way netted me a 2.18 60' time on 2 occasions.

yeah when i was launching i was trying to do the slip style instead of just dumping it. the aim was that when the clutch was fully engaged the revs would drop to 3k. usually this ment launching at 3.5-4k.

if you just dump it youll probably just sit there spinning the tires....

i found it best to just rev it up and feather the clutch until the car hooks, the same way you would do it when taking off from a traffic light and driving normally, just giving it more gas for faster acceleration. :)

its all practice.

OK, I'm comparing my times with those of Suprat, Suprahero, lagged, and BTZ. I'm running stock turbo and IC sytem on street tires. I do have a MBC @10-12lbs depending on atmosperic temperatures, 3" exhaust turbo back with no cats, and an XTD stage 3 clutch. My reaction and 60 foot is very comparable, but by the time I reach 330 I'm off 3-5 tenths, and my trap speeds through the 1/8 are very slow. What is holding my speed back. My best 1/8 mile speed is 70mph, and that was before the new clutch.

Here's my times from friday (my best 1/8):

0.1291 - reaction
2.1518 - 60 ft
6.1418 - 330 ft
9.0559 - 1/8 mi
67.27 - 1/8 mi trap speed

My best (only 1/4 mile) was 15.5, back before the new clutch and i also still had the silencer in my exhaust. I will soon be going back to Gulfport for a new more respectable 1/4.

wow! your mph is about 10mph atleast. if you had like an insane 60' maybe, but a 2.15 i would expect 77-80mph.
looking thru my timeslips from a few years back i had a 2.3 60' and ran 9.01@86mph now this is a high mph for the et, but that was because i managed to smoke the tires about 100' haha.
have you dyno'd your car?

First off.....I wasn't trying to thread jack.......Nice run Souprat

This was my first run since removing the silencer from my exhaust (major difference) and installing my stage 3 clutch. My 60' and E.T were both much better than my previous runs. But, my trap speed is just the same as it always was. My hand did slip right over the shifter going into 3rd, so that cost me a bit too. But, when comparing my times, it looks like the difference starts by the 330" mark. I don't shift to 3rd until I'm almost out of the 1/8. The only thing I can think of is maybe it's because I shift just short of Redline. Should I not be so scared of the red? Where should I be shifting?
