well i just got back from Maryland International Raceway alittle while ago. was one of two mkiii's there. the other was owned by a nice guy my age there with his dad. good car. anyway my best:

60'....2.174
330....6.014
1/8....9.253
MPH....78.04
1000....11.922

1/4....14.188
MPH....100.4

i'm pretty happy considering my goal was 14.5. mods are in the sig. theres more in the car, i thik if i tryed i could get a 13.9 out of it. now onto the "but":

my clutch was acting up. like first 3 runs(out of 7) it was fine, no problem. but then it started to slip in the top of third and forth. like just slip enough to notice. like i would have it floored and if i let off the revs would drop down about 500rpm or so. i figured that the freeplay was off. so i tryed adjusting it and it felt fine, i went out and ran my 14.1 that you see above no slip. then i go out and the next two runs it's slipping. on the way home it was slipping really bad in 5th, at about 3k rpm with 8psi was enough to slip pretty bad.
now this is really anoying. this is the second spec stage two that i have had problems with (the first was eaten by a bad RMS). i went in and replaced it with a new spec stage 2 just a few month ago. was broken in right. now what could it be??????????:1zhelp:
unfortunatly i'm going back to school tomarrow and wont be near the car for another few months. but its never to early to get started on this stuff right?:icon_conf

I did 14 flat with intake, 10psi and a crush bent exhaust on a stock ct-26 with the same mph as you and a 2.29 60ft

Your car is definetly lacking top end. What are the compression numbers of the engine?

spec 2 clutches suck... i had one last year, the clutch was broken in properly and everything, after a few street pulls the clutch started to slip... worst performance clutch ever. my spec 2 had about 2000 miles or so... i now have the clutchnet stage 3 and love it.

i run the car 7 or 8 times back to back at the track and the clutch held up great...

alright, i know that i'm not the best driver in the world. this is my first car. and i realize that there is more in the car. aside from the clutch the car is in excelent mechanical condition(and that will be the first thing adressed over the summer). average compression acrose all 6 is 180, with the differance between highest and lowest being 4psi. so over the summer i'll be going to the track as much as possible(once the clutch is taken care of). before i go back to school we'll see how much i can get out of it.

i also noticed there were a few of you who were quick to say i suck(i'm not contesting that outright) yet none who offered any help on what might be wrong with my clutch.

i have a stock ct on its way out, at 10 pounds of boost i trapped over 100mph. you could get into the 13s if your motor is healthy for sure.

I was wondering what my 1/4 mile times would be. I ran last night and I'm posting my best 1/8 mile time. I blew a head gasket three races later. The car never got above 1/2 on the temperature gauge. I thought it would run hot before blowing a hg. Can you do math to figure out what my 1/4 mile time would be?

Your 1/4 Mile ET is 13.75 seconds computed from your vehicle 1/8th ET of 8.784 seconds.
Your 1/4 Mile MPH is 104.15 MPH computed from your vehicle 1/8th MPH of 83.99 MPH.

Who knows how accurate that is, but It seems about right for your hp level

hmm... something is off.. the mph should be higher then that.. hows the a/f on the car? I couldn't run anything over 11-12 psi with the stock ct26, I dont know how your running 12.5 on a 50 trim..

You can run 18-20psi on a STOCK ct-26. :)
Even more on an upgraded one if you wanted to...

i keep up with everyone who posted timeslips for the first 60 feet, so i'm not that dissapointed. i guess i'm loosing it somewhere farther down the track, ether my granny shifting or the clutch. i'll figure it out this summer. but for now this is all i need:

60 ft is everything. 2.1 is great for street tires

Good time and keep up the good work :)

my 50 trim is on a garrett to4e, and not a ct26. Maybe that will help clear up any questions. My car is pretty slow out of the hole. I guess that's because it weights 9000 pounds with my new leather seats.

With a 60-trim and 15psi, I managed a 13.3@107... like the best say, it's ALL IN the 60' ...

That's where the run makes it, or breaks it. The clutch slipping is definitely holding you back, however I've seen some big names around here run spec II's and completely over shoot their tq rating.
Are you sure it's the clutch?
How's the rear seal?
There really shouldn't be a reason you're blowing it over the "conservative" tq rating.
