few days ago bought myself ebay t4 manifold
before that was using t3/t4 garrett turbo with stock manifold & had 485whp

what I need is a 600whp capable turbo (700crank)
same time want to have full boost @ 3k rpm
mr Modularturbo suggests Turbonetics MC76
local tuners want to sell to me garrett gt42r, but I think its a monster turbo with huge lag

dont know what to do
afraid of losing 1k$ spending on bull sh!t.

600rwhp on a non-laggy turbo?

Get a set of cams, standalone tuning, and a 67mm turbo of your choice. Get it ball bearing, and with a ~.8 a/r turbine section

From what i understand (at least in the mk4 world), the GT4088R is considered to be a much better turbo then the 67. Its a 63mm turbo that has less lag yet can produce the power of the 67. I too thought the gt40 was a lag monster but upon more research it may be a better choice then the 67.

The choice (IMO) is definitely between the 67 with a .81 hot side or the gt4088R. I don't think you will see full boost (18psi) at 3k rpm though, definitely before 4k rpm but not 3k...

I have been plotting out for years what I am going to do to my MK4 6spd HPDE monster...once i buy it of course :)

Forced Performance sells a hybrid Garrett known as the FP HTA GT3586R that they claim moves over 75 lb/min of air.
http://store.forcedperformance.net/...oduct_Code=NTGT3586HTA&Category_Code=Turbo-FP
They also sell the FP HTA GT3582R which they claim spools faster and flows more than the GT35R. If they're not full of shit, that should be just right for your goals.

IMO Id go with a GT4088R and leave the super fast spooling turbos for smaller motors that need it. (1JZ) Do you really want over 550 lb/ft so close to idle in a MKIII?

Have you looked at the GT4094R its bigger than the GT4088R but not as big as the GT42. Thats the turbo I was thinking about going with.

How do you want the 600whp, pump gas or race gas?
What cams do you have?
Intercooler?
ECU?
Injectors?
Fuel pump(s)?
When do you want spool, aka what is "small lag"?

Look into some Holset or BW turbos, don't always need to stay with a Garrett design. The new 62mm billet turbo might make it there, on some higher 110, or some 93 + meth.

2,5 fmic
AEM standalone
1000cc rc
2x walbo 255

Full intake pressure at 3k??? On a 7m, 1jz, and even the mighty 2jz? Not unless you are increasing the displacement to 4L on each of those motor will you get full intake pressure by 3k rpm. Not happening unless you are going to run NO2.

Realistically most 600hp turbo won't spool until about mid 3k rpm and be lucky to get full intake pressure by the high 3k RPM unless you have agressive ALS settings. Especially on the piss poor flowing stock 7m head or 1jz. 2jz might get it there... a big might.

The 42 with the right mods is a 900 RWHP turbo ;) It is a little laggy though.
