Jeff, I think you missed the part where its an AE86 ;). But 5spd JZ powered in any chassis under 9 sec is insane.

I think he means my ma70 with 1jz 5spd that has done 9.48. I just came from the track having traction problems in 2nd and 3rd gear on the AE86 and still did 8.87@157.93mph. You can here on the video the tires spinning and I backed off the throttle and hit it again and starts spinning again. i tried to download the video but is giving me error. I will post the address as soon as I get it. On saturday I hope the track is in better condition and the numbers will change. Here the video,

Twin 1JZ,
Can you share driveline specs of your 7M 9.7sec car. What clutch, driveshaft, differential. And how well R154 survived this 9.7sec pass? Post video if you have.
It's kind of common knowledge that R154 won't take 800hp+ abuse on drag strip

Thanks

P.S. Forgot to ask - how heavy is 7M car?

The car has custom one piece driveshaft, 3.91 gears (would have been better a 4.10) and a non-turbo flywheel with a push conversion. The r154 has survive pretty well on my cars. They weight from 3100 to 3500 pounds and the only car that have broken one is one of the 1jz ma70 that has done 10 flat (hopefully 9.80's this saturday). It was a pretty hammered tranny. The Corolla weights around 2700 pounds and it has done 1.21 60ft and I still haven't been able to break one. They have withstand over 850 whp on the corolla and over 760 whp on the ma70's. It just depends on your clutch set up and how you drive it. A friend of mine had a lighter corolla, less whp and broke 3 of them and only doing low 10's. I have posted here videos of 9.48@146mph on a r154 ma70. Check my posts
