NEVA!!!!!!!!! It's been about twice as long as this only about 8-10 months ago! You haven't seen me with long hair yet.

I couldn't see you when you came over a few days ago. All I could see was your hair............:biglaugh:

Well got some more work done yesterday. We painted the driver's side quarter panel and the front fender, we also had to repaint the rear bumper cause as it turns out the color wasn't close to matching. We don't know what the color is currently but we did some tweaking with the paint with some existing colors that we had at the house. It was my suggestion to add some orange to the yellow paint that we have and it turned out pretty dang good. Much closer match than before, but still not perfect. The yellow that was on the car when we got it is super metallicy, where as the paint we have is also metallic, but not as metallic as what is on it now. But I can live with it, as long as it is one color is all that matters to me at this point! ;)

Here are some pics of what we got done. This first pic is just another one of the spolier outside of the garage.

These are of the quarter panel work that I told ya'll I would get pictures of. Remember this is the quarter panel that was smashed in and we pulled out and my Dad did the body work to make it right again. Very nice!

Here it is compared to the other one:

Well when we painted the quarter panel the first time there was a couple spots that weren't covered in primer before the paint and the paint did not like it at all. So we had to sand them back down and re-primer them before painting it again.

But once that was done, everything else went pretty good. We got the paint matching pretty good and actually made some forward progess with the paint. Enjoy! (BTW, there were some deep chips in the front of the drivers door that we filled in and primered, but haven't painted yet, so that's what that spot is)

NOTE: The rear bumper is only thrown on and mounted with 1 nut on each side, so that's why the lines look so off.

And here is a close up comparison of the paint. Notice the difference in metallic. Oh well, the color is good at least!

Great job Johnny Depp, uh, I mean Keylan. Your car is looking bad ass. I got mine running and I've driven it the last couple days. It won't be long and we'll be out racing again. So when's the motor going in?

Awesome news Jay! When can I swing by and check it out? I can't wait to go racing again, I miss it terribly!

As far as my motor, I got a bolt that got broke off into the head during the wreck that I have to get off first before I can drop the motor in. A tap broke off into it, so now it's really gonna be a b**ch to get out, but thankfully there is a lot of "meat" left around the bolt, so if I have to, I will just drill and tap it for a larger size bolt. I have just dreaded doing it, so whenever I do that, I can put that last water pipe on and drop the engine in. My coil came in, so I should have everything to fire it up once it is in. Still gotta order some fans, but that isn't gonna keep me from firing it up or anything. Just gotta get that damn bolt out!!!!

That looks like a piece of cake to fix. It's only aluminum so it should retap easily. Go get a kit from Advance in sumiton, fix it and then take it back.......or you can probably borrow one from them.
My car is driving great. I have to have the front end aligned up, because it's pulling to the left, but the steering rack I got from you is working flawlessly. Thanks.

Car= $1700, Parts to fix car= $3000 give or take, Extra Goodies (rims, wing, 6-speed tranny)= $3600 soooooo $4700 fixing the car to be drivable, and $8300 with the extra goodies. So I will pretty much have a running driving supra for less than 5 grand if you look at it that way.

Well technically it could be a running driving MKIV for less than 5! Its really gonna be a running driving MKIV for right at 6 as it sits right now, cause I haven't put the tranny in yet. hahaha
