Rockfrod Fosgate Power series ;) Not the punch.
Phoenix Gold Frankenstien
I always loved the Orion HCCA series but no way I could afford the HCCA 225 much less HCCA 250 new back then! Still made in the USA at that point (same with Phoenix gold).

I really loved how the 225 can go down to .5 ohm without breaking a sweat, doubling in power by halving the resistance. I have not found any amps that do that as of lately.

Remmber the Pioneer ODR that predates the DEX-P9 (Japan only model). A freind of mine has that system with that hu and processor. All I say is freaking NICE!!

btw for anyone that is wondering.

and as I mntioned... wave guide intallaton

These guys where the ones who pionneered using studio EQ/Gate Limiters etc for the 12v audio system.

That was why that car won 4 world championship back then (and Trucker can attest to how that things sounded).

and there is the Integra that Trucker Mentioned.

Do they literally snap into place or are they just the same shape? I'm curious as this seems to be the cleanest route to go with dicing up as little as possible.

Just the same shape:( you will have to modefy them to make them stick. I used a gluegun on the backside of the tweeter housing to make them stick to the mirrorcover.

lol, ill see your frankenstien, and raise you an earthquake 24300!(think that was the model, anyway. 4300 watts, in the early 90's! unheard of. damn thing was what, 3 and a half feet long?

yeah, the legend was awesome! all the speakers at shin level, soundstage right on the top of the dash! and the gn? pure magic. lol, im sure any twenty-something looking at it today would be scratching his head wondering where the box for a pair of 18's are. an AP setup is still one of those things on my "to do" list.

btw there are a pair of NOS CD-1's on ebay right now with a bin for $249.....tempting...

AP sure do rock!

I also just saw a set of ID EQ31 and ID active X-over. 250 each both EQ and 250 for the ID active X! That is buy it now also!

yeah, i saw those. but my idea was to use the old stuff like ap and hcld's, and let something like the alpine pxe-h650 that just went for 177 bucks tune it. while the old amps still beat the new ines, processing and hu's have gotten better.

i still want to find some modern quality subs that dont need 1.21 jiggawatts to run. ive got a matched set of old soundstream D sereies amps. pair of D60II's and a D200II, in MINT shape. still looking for another 200, but having hell finding one. it would be a "period correct" setup for my scirocco.

i remember when a hcca would beat up a pair of subs. my 250 barely moves my w3002d4's. however, a set of co122's(15 yrs ago they could have been the xtr's!) makes little boys wet themselves, they dont beleive me when i tell them its only a 200w total system!
