Interesting place you're tuning your car at there... that looks very official, like an R&D facility or something! :D

Hehe, I am a very lucky guy to be able to use this dyno!! Absolutely amazing piece of machinery! (At my work, yes a R&D facility)

10's can be had if you're not launching on boost... What sort of 60' times are you getting now?

Not too bad, but I would think if you have sticky enough tires, with a proper on-boost launch, you might see 1.4's with such a light car. :)

What turbo is on there? Never mind, Just looked back a few pages. Careful with the CT57 on 18 PSI. I was tearing thrust bearings up left and right at that boost.

Winter Update...

When I made my runs at MILAN, I ended up breaking a tooth off of the spider gear inside the diff carrier. So the car is going to end up getting a Torsen Trutrac (which should be AWESOME on the street) and a 3.55 gear instead of the current 3.91. I'm already at redline in 4th crossing the stripe at 122, so the 3.55 should push the 4th gear limit to 135 or so.

and I am also finally...... Putting in a roll cage! or well, an 8pt roll bar, to be more exact

This is an amazing car, and an amazing build. Watching that thing move and hearing it really makes me want one of these with a 7m in it. Congrats and keep up the amazing work!

if you got the tire I would drop in a 4:11 then you will be in 5th across the line and have big mile an hour and possible better times

ps most aftermarket gears are shit compared to the stock toyota gear's

ture track can cause darting off the line I find..... since one tire can spin faster then the other

nothing beats clutch pack or spool for drag

might be an idea to have drag diff (spool with a 411) and then have long gear torsin for over all street/auto cross

since it is so piss easy to swap diff's and to make life even easer just use button head bolt's in stead of stud's for the diff basicly them then from inside out then use a nut to hold the diff in

then for fast drain and fill just weld in inspection / dump hole oil pack in hole

just an idea

Thanks for the comments guys!

Nash-man: This car does not have a Toyota differential. I Installed a 8.75" unit out of a 1968 Big block Dodge Dart.
I don't want to be in 5th gear at the drag strip, I want to stay in 4th, and make 1st gear a little more useful.

Update:

I bought some new diff parts today! (For the 8 3/4 Mopar the car has under it)

-Detroit TruTrac helical differential carrier

-3.55 ratio Ring & Pinion for the 742 8.75" casting

-Bearings
-Seals
-Shims
-other random stuff I needed that you don't care about.

Around $875.00 Ouch..... but I need it or the car won't move

In the meantime, while I was trying to save some cash to buy those differential parts, I decided to do something about that horrid color of the interior.

The dye/paint is still wet in some of these pics, it looks much better when fully dry. Turned out great! I have many other pieces done as well, just no pics.

That "awful" interior color was just 40 years of sunlight and disco man... nothing to worry about. Get those parts put back in yet? I bet the contrast will look nice...

Havent put the parts back in yet, waiting to make the roll cage decision still, and I have the whole dash out of the car, it's all cracked, so I need to repair it before I put the rest of the dash pieces back in

Here is a my new Eaton "Detroit Trutrac"

More new parts!

I recieved my 3.55 R&P, and master rebuild kit... ya know, bearings and such

p1809700_1.jpg

Started to put it all together last night, I will be doing this myself of course.

How can you learn and educate yourself if you just pay someone to do it for you?

Pressing on the new bearing after getting the ring gear on there. Having some issues with the company I got the ring gear bolts from... they are useless garbage, so I will be delayed on getting it completely together until I can get some good bolts

p1809700_2.jpg

Drove out the old races and pressed in the new ones.

Also repainted the dash parts the way it was from the factory, with some silver. The part around the air vents, and the "CELICA" lettering
