You sure its genuine? Just asking but Toyota did race the Supra in other events besides Group A. I was under the impression the cars had to be returned to TRD.

Is the camera car an A70 as well?

No ,the onBoard (chase car) is Alfa 75 (2000cc N/A) and interestingly enough IIRC it has some crappy 8 valve 4cyl engine with at the most 200BHP(more than likely much less). On the other hand the weight of the chase car could easily be less than 2000lbs ,where the Supra can't be much less than 3200 in order to qualify as "FIA GroupA" and be eligible for the race.

Here is another onBoard from teh same race ,showing the chase between the two (make sure you scroll to 10:42 if it does not do it automatically):

Nash ,I Got a lot of info for the car will post it once i finalize all the important details (suspension setup ,geometry and even LSD settings). This is a setup that can't be proven any better that it works great.

Ian,

("John Smith")'s case is a true exception - to the best of my knowedke his car is still on TTA books! In other words the race car and the tranportation enteties are to this day property ot Toyota. For the rest of 20 or so "genuine " group A cars ,TTA ,TTE and TRD REQURED these vechiles to be returned ot them ,however they did not neseraly dismantle the veachiles! Depending on the region what it is believed that:

TTA sold cars and parts intact - this was mention by the guy who posted the pictures of John Smiths supra.

TTE sold cars as rolling chassis only - I know this from a friend of mine who was offered a rolling chassis in Germany , originally purchased from TTE with papers (log book) showing that it was ex Rally car.

Toyota Technocraft either did not sell any cars or sold a few to MIL Motorsport (they owned the ex TOMs GroupA supras raced in touring car competitions in Japan)

I have not gotten all the info on the car ,or approval from tAlexander Strik to post it here. It is powered by a 7m in order to be "in Homologation" ,the rest of the details may be quite interesting but will post them l soon.

Here are a few pictures:

I could watch the in-car for hours, seems like good competitive racing! I watched the entire first upload, started learning the track a little...

Pretty awesome video man, watched this at home the other day. Guy in the chase car is a damned good driver to be able to hold his own on a track like that against a car that much more powerful.

No, it is a Alfa 75 dtm car

Alexandar - if the chase car (Alfa Romeo 75 driven by MARC SEESIN) was a "DTM Car" that means that it must be turbocharged and it is not. See the race result here:
http://www.ytcc.nl/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Alfa-Romeo-YTCC-SAC-Race-2-per-class.pdf

He races in the M2000 class ,which simply means Modified 2000 - see alfaromeochallenge.eu regulations :
http://24.132.210.251/alfachallenge/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=54

Based on all that the chase car has a minimum weight of 1010KG with Naturally Aspirated 8 valve 4cyl engine which is good for nothing BUT alfa romeo challenge ;) If I'm correct your car is also regulated with (correct me if I'm wrong) minimum weight of 1450KG and homo cap of 300hp on the engine - all that data explains the dynamics of the race :)
