But but but! They are EVIL!

Haha. Agreed, any company that can continue to jack up prices while recording record profits doesn't sound too kind-hearted to me.

It's 2.48 for Arco regular and 3.09 for Shell premium here in the Pacific Northwest. It's nice being able to fill up for less than $40 bucks again.

I saw 2.29/gall here in AZ yesterday. The recent downward trend shows the cause and effect relationship. The less the country uses, the less the country pays for fuel. Simply supply and demand laws, cause and effect. Because I want to do my part, i've been refraining from getting that sweet Land Cruiser I've been daydreaming of.

But on another note, gas is also in record usage and demand. Its only fair for them to take advantage. thats what running a business is all about. BTW, just filled the dd for 26$!!! thats 2.29 a gallon. so exciting haha

seeing as my supra's off the road at the moment, my current daily driver is my other car (well, the other _Driving_ car - there's 3 more out the back in bits), which is a 91 f250 ex-ambulance....

ford decided that these babies needed to be fitted with a 351W, c6 (3 speed, 1:1 top) and a 4.11 rear end.... combine that with a not overly aerodynamic body style (slightly more aerodynamic than the big box type ones that were used in the US) and I'm getting around 9 miles to the gallon on a good day....

a few weeks back, when prices were at their highest, i was able to put A$150 (around US$125 at the time, more like US$100 now) in, and still not fill the tanks (2x 72 litre tanks, from memory about 38 gallons?) - that would last me just over a week....

I was being sarcastic. The oil industry reports lower than average profit margins compared to other American businesses.

They also pay phenomenal income taxes.

i bought it for 1.99/gallon here in houston at a local walmart. Cheap gas FTW!too bad OPEC has planned to cut production by about 1.5 million barrels starting Nov.1 so we will likely see another rise in prices in the near future.

$2.19 here now. It's pretty cool to look back on this thread and see how fast prices have dropped. As of right now a barrel of oil is $56, down from what, $140 a few months ago?

hahahaha I love it, OPEC is pissssed
