Are there differences between them? I've heard somewhere that they are different in the fact that 89+ is stiffer+lower. Anyone know this for sure?

Hmmm, thanks. Hopefully someone can chime in. I'm just curious about something.

There was a discussion on another forum about this a few years ago and pre '89s definitely sat higher. They had visual confirmation on car and also a side by side comparison of the springs themselves. I think '89+ springs were packed slightly closer together.

Hm, any discussion/info on the stiffness of the springs? I would probably assume the lower ones are stiffer, but who knows.

Had an 87 and have an 89. I don't know if the spring rate is any different but the height was about a half inch lower on the 89 stock for stock. I think the front lower control arm is different to...don't quote me on it though.

You'll get mixed answers, as some cars will settle more than others depending on how many miles are on them, etc...

Take a look in Jeff Lange's FAQ's about model/year changes. He might have that information in there someplace.

My 87 sits higher than my 90 but I always said thats cuz my 87 sat more without an engine to settle the springs down. To further my theory on this, my dads 87 still has original engine and it sits low like my 90 so who knows. Eibach FTW!

They're progressively wound instead of straight wound which makes them change characteristics when pushed hard, somewhere between mushy and somewhat firm. I've had them and felt it made the car feel somewhat unpredictable and real "twitchy" entering and exiting the corner.

Also, they don't provide enough drop to suit me.

Tokico Illumina's blow about as often as a $2 whore in Crackton.

The only really good thing about them is they're tems compatible and they're alot cheaper than Tein's.
I already told you what I think of the Eibach springs

If anyone was interested, I read on some website that had a list of all the lowering spring spring rates say that the 89+ springs are 16% stiffer and slightly lower than the pre-89 ones.
