Hi guys !!
Soon I will make a presantation of my 2jzgte mk3 91 supra...working some
bugs and some small details :sarcasm:

I always wanted to improve my braking capability, and stoping the heavy mk3
supra anytime....
I know, just buy a big brake kit.Well a good 6 pot big brake kit goes for more
than $ 3000 usd...like Brembo!
I did some research on brakes and I found that euro & usa spec Jza80 mk4 supras (four pot calipers,330mm discs) are big 'animals'...:aigo:
They have been tested to be better than any 6 pot caliper in the market, and the answer is on the cylinder (pot) diameter which is huge, almost 2.5 inches
diameter X 4 cylinders these things kicks ass :icon_bigg
For the rear I bought new rotors,Ferodo race (street) pads,Goodridge steel
brake lines, checked & painted black rear caliper...just for a complete
allaround brake upgrade !

For the history the mk4 supra had the best braking 120km/h-0 stopping
times than any production cars until the Porsche GT ($ 400.000 dollars car)
came up and made some better times :icon_surp
Mk4 turbo guys...keep their OEM brakes (at least the front) even when
they reach big Hp numbers like 600 - 700 whp !! :aigo:

Anyway...these front 4 pot/cylinder brakes are great.
Made from Toyota JDM Sumitomo, and I got the hall set new from Toyota : (transformed the euro currency to USD)
# 2 four pot calipers ....................for $ 800 USD
# 2 rotors/discs...........................for $ 200 USD
# 4 Brake pads............................for $ 70 USD
# 2 Disc brake dust covers............for $ 65 USD
# All the shims,pins,covers,bolts,
s,clips,anti rattle springs,etc.,...for $ 55 USD

Also order Goodridge steel brake lines for $ 110 USD,but I will have to take
the front lines to make custom fittings on the one side/end for the mk4 brake caliper, while the other end of the line fits Ok!

And last I should get 2 custom adaptors for the front mk4 calipers, and 2
inserts for the front rotors to seat true on the axle hub cause mk4 hub
diameter is 62mm and the mk3 diameter is 60mm :icon_bigg

Tell me what you guys think about this upgrade/mod.But still an OEM mod
:icon_bigg:biglaugh::biglaugh:
Some photos I took...:sarcasm:

I come from a land down under
I use the DBA 4000 Mk4TT Rotors on my car with AP Racing 4 Piston callipers.

It's far from a drop in bolt on mod as you need to machine the Mk3 Hub 5mm to fit inside the rotor so ABS isn't an option when doing it this way.

350z Track Edition Rotors are a better choice for the front as they will fit over the Mk3 hubs.

I also machined some press fit sleeves for the 60mm centres then turned them in the lathe to 62mm so they're perfectly concentric.

The Mk4 Callipers are 50% Iron so are heavy as lead :(
(I have a full set here for a friends conversion and 1 front just about = all 4 of mine in weight)

Slightly OT-

So what would it take to put the 350z track edition rotors on my supra?

Im looking for a brake upgrade but I don't have the money for the big brake kit. [such as ARZ's]

If you can make the adapter money friendly then I think your on to something. But I think you need to keep in mind that some of us want to keep our ABS, like me. So IJ has a point there. Maybe you can use 350z rotors and mk4 brakes?

They may be heavy but considering you can find mkiv brakes rather easily, mkiii owner usually dont like to spend a lot of money and pads/rotors would be easily attainable. i think the weight justifies. if your really worried about weight, then that means you have money to buy a nice BBK. my .02 cents not putting your comment down.

What's the difference between standard oem mk4 tt rotors and DBA 4000
mk4 TT rotors?
I really don't want to mess up my ABS system. All my mods were made with
the concept of doing it right and to never have to disable any factory system
on my car say it ABS,TEMS,PPS,A/C,etc.,.
So...what do you mean about machining the mk3 hub 5mm?
Which side, spot do I have to machine, and isn't there any alternative?
Any pics or something to look at?

The Mk3 hub where the ABS shutter is mounted is 5mm to big to fit inside the Mk4 rotors.

Sorry no pics handy.

There is a picture of a mk4 front hub axle (same as mk3)...
Check it out .....

Is it 5mm to big/or to deep on A-B spot?
Or is 5mm to long/on diameter on X-Z spot?

Thats cool, you guys are doing this... I went with the 350z rotors and Night Pager Brackets i got from SilverlineRacing.com I think his sn is Group A Supra.
So far i just need a shim to get it centered on the hub and brake lines(not driving it like this just mocking it up)
A pic:

So IJ, where you able to make a shim to center the rotor?

I come from a land down under
SC: It's the X>Z trust me on this the 350z rotors are a better option but didn't exist when I built mine.

BG: Yes I pressed spacers on and machined them on centre to be perfect.

BG: Not really the way I do them is make them press fit on the ID and leave the OD +.5mm press them on with Loctite let it cure then put the axle in the lathe and turn the OD to 60mm.

This way they're perfectly concentric
(a big concern over 150mph)

I defiantly see your point when i just had the rotor on there with the lug nuts holding them tight, it was pretty obvious that i need a shim to center the rotor.

Do they still sell this? And can I get that kit, and run a stock MKIII supra rotor? or do I have to run some other rotor? and does it still work with ABS? hah

Gotta run the 350Z rotors. They're larger than the MKIII rotors.
