i got a response from ati about the custom trigger shell. cost is $450 and potentially a 5 month wait. O_O
Update: waiting for fittings and poly stuff so I can swap frames. Been working on the body.

Yeah I already have the ati damper for the 7M so I was just asking about a custom shell for it. That does come out all together for about $900....pretty crazy for a damper.
So since i am crazy. I think im gonna order the shell. What do you guys think is the best configuration for the shell? Magnets (and how many) or the AEM style? The ATI guy says it doesnt matter...so long as the ecu can work with it.

Well hopefully sometime this week now that Steven has cash, we can get that ordered... Only real big thing that would prevent it from starting, I guess we can still use the old trigger setup.. But not liking how it's so flimsy.
That and a trip to Proefi to finish getting some shit. If that gets all ordered I'm sure this thing will start and drive in April

Not really. The ati replacement dampers only support 500-600hp they said cause its the smallest damper they make.

What is Duane on? On know he doesn't have a shell, he is on a trigger wheel setup but still. Tony? Milbrum?
Just seems odd that and aftermarket damper even tho it is small can't handle 700hp

If I recall...off the shelf damper is good for about 600hp sustained and 900hp drag racing they say. More power you make the more often it needs to be rebuilt before it goes bad. So a larger damper would last much longer.
Heres duanes damper. Looks like the off the shelf one with a trigger wheel. If it's bigger then its not by much.

Yeah I don't like that setup, just like I don't like a trigger wheel over the cam gear.
Trying to do everything hides and mag pickup instead.

You couldn't tell if the damper was bigger or not unless you referenced it to the radius of the timing cover.

The biggest they have which is a 7.xx just a hair bigger then a jZ pulley. And redo your brackets for the same size belt lol
