fixed, 1jz ae86 would be nice instead of those sr20's those crazy drifters are putting in there

Yea if you can find an ae86 in good enough condition.
Speaking of sr20's he could go with an older 240.

not meaning to be picky but isn't it a RB25?? RB26 is awd RB25 is rear, just makes more sense to me that if it came out of a S15 it proably was a 25 not 26! anyways back on topic a 1jz in a mustang sounds cool but why not build up the 5.0 a buddy has one and it's bad ass

i think it would be kinda hard to mount a straight 6 from side to side. if they can make a rwd evo then im pretty sure they can do it with a rb26

if you want to put a 1jz in a 5.0 do it if that what make you happy, build it for yourself not others

You know how long an inline 6 is?? you know how wide that car has to be??
A skyline is rear wheel drive, A skyline GTR is rear wheel drive based, it has a transfer case that powers the front wheels.

lots of suspension options. There is more aftermarket for the fox mustang than any other platform. You can get a notch under 2900#'s and still have a interior.

yes i know how long an i6 is, the post before mine implied that since it was 4wd it was mounted side to side like an evo which is an i4

Go search on the other board there is a 2JZ'd singled drag car fox body on there, that is running now.

I say do it, coming from a avid drag racing guy, those cars are sooooo much better suited for it. I've thought about it quite often because I know so much about JZ motors, (Thanks SM!!) and have gotten so good at working on mine from fixing and upgrading shit, that I'd like to stick with one. But....a built 351w motor stroked to like a 418 or so with a 88mm (Or bigger:aigo:) turbo on a 10.5 tire, something about that I dig.

I think it was a RB26. All that is needed is a RB25 tranny for it to be RWD. As for a JZ in a FD RX7... DO IT! I love the look of the FD put it together with a JZ or even a RB engine would make it freaking cool.

killing the "spirit of the rotary":3d_frown: imo rx7's should stay rotary, 13b's have a good amount of potential for such a small ass engine. just wondering, since rotaries are 1.3l and jz's are 2.5/3.0 would weight distribution be a small issue?

240Z (S30), 280Z (S30), 280ZX (S130), or 300ZX (Z31) with a 2JZ FTW...much lighter than a Mustang, look better, and much roomier engine bay since it was a straight six to start with....except the Z31...although in Japan, one model Z31 (2000ZR I think) came with RB20DETs so that works too.

the mustang does have the advantage of mega traction with the right suspension and tires. I always wanted to put a 1jz in a 3rd gen camaro. They can do wheelies with a basically stock suspension with enough torque :) And then you get the best of both worlds...the killer traction, aftermarket and parts support of the camaro, and the 1jz reliability, power, and fuel economy all in one. Same would apply to the fox mustang, definatley has the best parts support of any car in the world

I'm confused, this sentence doesn't make sense.
