This is where it all started:

Here comes another 2JZGE thread..

To start it off, I'm going with a 2JZGE out of an SC300 to be run with my R154 using a 1JZ bellhousing, and BIC motormounts.

I plan on running this with the same fuel setup from my 7M, 550cc injectors with a walbro fuel pump, Aeromotive AFPR. I'm also running the Devilsown Methanol injection kit.

Engine management - I'm going to give a shot running it off the 7M electronics, and MAF-T. If/when this doesn't work I have arrangements to have a MegaSquirt system built.

I'm still not sure about which turbo I want to run, but I'm looking at a Masterpower T70 w/ a .96 A/R. I'm going to be running the SSautochrome manifold. I was very impressed with their manifold on my 7M.

intercooler setup will be the Maxxautoworks IC I ran on my 7M. Until I switch to a FFIM setup.

The .96 a/r seems a bit large IMO. Folks are making plenty of power in excess of 600RWHP on the top end with even a .81.

Of course the megasquirt will be better to tune being a full standalone. If you're setting up a complete wiring job, investing that time into a standalone the first time around will net larger results. Especially the cost of the megasquirt, less than $600 including a EDIS-6 triggerwheel, EDIS ignitor, and use stock 7M coils, it just saves you time down the road.

Or I recommend you to get a Stinger, less than $900 shipped, and use the stock harness and sensors, very simple. With this, you can use the 7M GTE electronics, and when you want, splice into the factory 7M harness with the Stinger, and you will be able to go back and forth with the two if you'd like. Lots of features, including anti-lag!

Yea man, I'm hoping to use a masterpower turbo, and unfortunately the T70 I have my eye on I can only find in .68 A/R and .96. Ideally I'd have a .84, as that is what my 57 trim Garrett was. The spool on it was amazing.

I'm considering the Stinger as an option, the reason I'm leaning towards MS is because my friend will build, install, and tune it for me for $700. This includes a for replacement on my motor if anything happens on his tune. He has insurance and is trying to make a business of building MS for people :).

Progress for today:

-Grinded and drilled the CPS so it fits nicely in the GE head.
-Removed the wiring harness, manifolds to prepare for headgasket replacement.

So how much is this costing you from start to finish. Don't count the turbo, manifold, intercooler, etc as that price is the same regardless of the swap.

we're looking at:

Motor: 650 Shipped
1JZ bell housing: ~320 Shipped
BIC Motormounts (I'm pre-89): 175 Shipped
1JZ Flywheel: ~200-300 Shipped (depending on if you want lightweight or OEM)

Running on stock electronics we're looking at approx: $1500

After proper EMS, we're looking at $2000+

Honest opinions guys.. .68 or .96?

Either way I'm hoping to switch housings with my Garrett so I can keep the .84

ide go with the .68, but i like quick spools :evil3:

You rule brotha! Its nice to know that others see the light!:evil2:

Dramon on CNAT was talking about using the JDM TT ECU and just wiring the 7MGTE CPS into the place of the camshaft sensor.... He said that the output signals are the same, and it appeared to be so with the data he posted....

I think you would have to install a MAP sensor but that is easy money..... Kind of a exploratory idea really..... I just dropped the 1400 on a new AEM EMS with all the money I saved by NOT REBUILDING THE 7M.

Thats a good point about the TT ECU! I didn't even think about that.. watch.. now it will be the big thing for 7Mers! They'll run COP, and MAP all with the stock CPS, all on the stock 440's! They'd just have to rewire the injectors to be high imp.

I think it'll be a great build, and not too much work. I can't believe more people havn't done it.

But the running rate for my MS system is going to be $575 installed! I guess that means I have no excuse to try running my car off the 7M ECU.

My next obstacle will be a PS AND AC delete... I think I may have to apply the PS pulley to the idler pulley, after some extensive machine work of course..

If that won't work, I'll keep the PS and build a custom mounting bracket, as the PS pump relys on the AC pump for support.

ehh, I don't feel like buying lines ;)

BTW: Can you move your drive belt tensioner with your hands, or even your entire body mass? I can't. Seized?

AND: Anyone know a good place for affordable 2JZGE HG's?

Driftmotion sells lines that should work (1JZ).

the belt tensioner can be moved by hand (both mine do)

affordable 2JZ-GE headgaskets, horsepowerfreaks (from Cometic).

Keep powersteering in your MA70 tank.

Someone mentioned to me that a Mustang (or other engine) tensioner may work with the AC/PS delete. I have yet to try it, but I will with the bastard JZ.

Thanks for all the info! I went with the cometic BTW. Do you have any more info on the Mustang tensioner? Mine is infact ceased, and in the garbage can.

Just take the old tensioner wheel to Autozone, O'RLY's, or Advanced and tell them you need a six rib wheel. They might have one in stock that will fit, which was my original plan to do. I haven't done it yet!

You obviously need another tensioner though! ;) Once you have that, then you can measure accurately for which belt you need.

I dunno man I might still do the 7M electronics.. but it's looking doubtful. I'm possitive I can get the motor running off the 7M ecu with very little work, I should do it because it would be so simple. It would take less than an hours work of soldering, and switching some coolant sensors, mounting the coil packs on the firewall, etc.

I recieved my SS Autochrome manifold yesterday.. along with an inlet pipe, dump tube, and downpipe (wich I will cut and re-weld to my existing DP). All came to me for 233 shipped. Everything looks awesome.

I also got my 1JZ bellhousing from Jeff at Champion today.

Pics should be up later tonight, if I stop being lazy ;)
