I doubt anyone has ever done it, probably not much of a gain over the stock twins.

That's where you're wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:biglaugh: People have done it, usually with upgraded CT26s, don't think I've ever seen a thread complaining about them so they're probably okay :biglaugh:

1J is ugly IMHO... but then again it's probably because most people just toss the engine in without cleaning it up.

2J is a whole nother story.

I agree. A cleaned up 1jz is nice to look at but a 2jz is simply

But by the time I have the money to get a front clip, there probably won't be none left. :(

1jz is the civic b16 swap in a sense, means find a 2jz and be happy.

Not true. Every motor has different properties, some want torque, some want a HUGE powerband. If I put the holset hx35 on my motor, I would see full spool at 3500 and ride it out to the stock redline of 7250rpm. I want something I can play with in all situations (drag, highway and autox)

we did it on chris' car and it turned out pretty nicely...not boosting much yet but it does feel good.

I agree, the point I was trying to make was lately I been seeing 1jz swaps but 2j at the same time has been rare.. maybe I'm not seeing it but thats how I was trying to put it across.

as for a pipe dream, well you got to start somewhere.

yeah, we gotta get it up to like 15psi though, at ct26 stock wastegate 6.8psi or so it feels pretty slow. Hopefully he'll get a boost controller after the trans swap, and at that point it should be pretty nice.
