So why aren't you using the GE intake manifold?

You know, I posted this for your benefit, because you have a good, cheap mod for performance AND reliability, available almost anywhere and it was being overlooked. If I had a GTE, I probably would test it myself, but I don't, nor do I have interest in putting one in. The problem with your...

Link? EGT and A/F spread? Did I miss something? Test conditions?

So why aren't you using the GE intake manifold?

I'm going to assume that was a joke :icon_lol: On another note, the ACIS should be able to be tuned on the dyno the same as with the TVIS, one run open, one run closed, you've found your baseline switch point +-300rpm.

So why aren't you using the GE intake manifold?

I searched every thread with intake manifold in the title. Only ones that weren't about front facing manifolds were these http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16219&highlight=intake+manifold&page=3 http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6013&highlight=intake+manifold...

So why aren't you using the GE intake manifold?

Well, since no one seems to think this is a good idea, I'll leave this out there if someone wants to take me up on it. I'll put $50 of my own money towards the dyno, and I'll cover ANOTHER $50 if it DOESN'T make better power over the GTE. Only requirement I have is it needs to be on a 400whp+...

You just need a vac source, like a reservoir and check valve.

So why aren't you using the GE intake manifold?

BTW, the ACIS is still changing the "observed" plenum volume and there will be a point at which the head will appreciate that.

So why aren't you using the GE intake manifold?

It has nothing to do with a higher flow potential, it has everything to do with superior distribution. Like I said, if someone wants to do testing, I'll throw my own money at it, and I'll bet you the GE works quite well in a high power gte

So why aren't you using the GE intake manifold?

I searched, and to my surprise, no one seems to switch to the GE manifold? I'm quite surprised this isn't something that has been persued. If someone with an ems/wideband has access to both and feels like taking the time and doing some dyno testing, I'd be happy to pitch in some greenbacks for...

I'm asking what size chokes he has fitted to the carbs

Discussion on the potential of the 7MGE

What chokes? I get 35-36mm on the 45s to fit a 7M to stock redline fairly well. How is the tuning going? I bet it runs quite well :)

    N/A Powerband

Mine pulls well from 2500-5500, max torque feels around 4400, and there is a dip around 3k.

    Header/Exhaust System Design

Just for grins I ran the numbers as the 7M has a great deal of potential for a powerful N/A motor, but the lack of torque on the bottom end would just make it a damn dog to drive unless it was track only. I decided to calculate for the full exhaust system considering the specs of a stock 7MGE...

Heh, watching for cheap DCOE45s now. That's an excellent idea.

    voltage drop?

Go get 2 heavy duty 2ga (only $2 more than the 4ga) battery cables from autozone that have an avail ring terminal post on them) a length of 4ga bat cable that will reach from your neg bat post to your trans. You will also need some ring connectors that will fit your 4ga cable and your chosen...

We had exhaust manifold/header design. How about intake manifold design?

You want an AVERAGE mach index of around .6, it will be faster and slower at some points, slower around the ssr, faster at the throat, and that doesn't make for VE. VE is determined by your cams, and like Sarinas said, varies widely with rpm.
