I skipped the last 10 pages, so someone else might have said this.
He says that "the only thing Supra has going for it is the targa top and the sweet engine" so if he doesn't like the car itself/as a whole I don't understand why he owns one.
Pretty sure I posted here ages ago, so I might as well post again.
I'd be delighted to go, if my engine was running right. Sure it's reliable enough but it's slow as hell (it's like running a Supra on an NA 4-cyl) and gets lousy mileage. Really lousy.
So now that I'm living in Beloit (not...
If you really want to show off your engine, get an acrylic hood. Although, I don't think such a thing exists for the MKIII, and even if it does I'm not sure if it actually looks good.
Driving hoodless, even if legal, is stupid and just another way to borrow trouble.
I'd also be willing to bet that those tails are either JDM or smoked. They seem quite a bit darker than normal NA/USDM tails. Although it could just be the insane speeding-ticket-red paint.
Either way, looks great.
Didn't read most of the thread (I at least read the first page), but did you consider the digi-dash before opting for the needle-gauge dash? Unless you're not going 1J and it therefore won't work. There aren't many digi-dash cars making themselves known (if many exist at all) so it would be...
This stuff is incredible. BBB Zooloo's stuff is just insane. Put together, it gives me a list of about 50 engine parts I want to polish. Something to the effect of... everything except the block.
Not to get off-topic, but what did you clean it with? My float works, but the bottle's really dirty and I'd like to get rid of the ugly dark staining inside it that's keeping me from seeing the actual level.
If you're getting coolant under the valve covers, then you're getting coolant in your oil.
If you're getting coolant in your oil, you're probably doing crazy damage to your engine components.
If you're doing crazy damage to your engine components, then you're gonna have to rebuild things...
That sounds EXACTLY like every single other "rod knock" video that has ever been posted on SM.
If it sounds exactly like every other rod knock video, then wouldn't that make it a rod knock video too?
I say rod knock. Especially considering how it's most noticeable between 2 and 3k RPM.
My...
Mine works, although sometimes it likes to freeze up until I move it by hand through the wiper stroke, turn off the wiper, move the arm back and forth a little and then turn it back on again, at which point it works fine. This happens completely randomly.
Though, I did have to put a larger...
Excuse me. I need to go pour some bleach in my eyes now, as a futile attempt to erase the horror of what I just saw.
Seriously, get that butchered crap out of there if it looks like that.
I thought the most damage occurred on startup. Once the oil has made its way into the whole engine, isn't it basically the same whether you idle for 15 seconds or 15 minutes?
Well, I feel silly. Anyway, my tag's not on the firewall, but rather it's a white sticker on the driver's door opening near the black vent thing. It says "G282" which isn't even in that list. A little googling says that G282 is an open 4.3.
Bummer. Looks like I have to swap diffs after all.
