so w/o hooking up the injectors/ignition from the EMB, you were able to tune the car decently? definitely good news
so im assuming hooking up the injectors would just allow for more fine tuning
Been doing some reading and not really finding too much support for the EMB (probably cause there are better options) but i have one laying around that has the main harness and injector harness that i was planning to use to tune my subaru ej22 but decided to build up the supra.
found some...
Ok I think I'm getting my head wrapped around the swap now. Good thing at least 2/4 ecu plugs seem finished and just have to worry about two and some body connectors
Sorry. It's pretty difficult to pickup where someone left off you know but appreciate the help hvyman.
So we figured out what numbers the two connectors were: M1 and IJ1.
The thing is not sure what harness it's from. I think the IJ1 is from the soarer but where did this M1 come from? It's not on the soarer diagram.
Actually do you know what plugs those are labeled as? Like the plug number? That'd help out a lot seeing as I still can't seem to find a diagram with those plugs on them.
Thanks for the quick reply.
He printed out the wiring diagram for the 1jzgte and I couldn't seem to locate any of the plugs on the diagram to match with any of those plugs.
I'm going to locate a reputable wiring diagram because not sure where he got his from but if anyone has a tried and...
My cousin had a 1jz installed) at illgarage but in the end had to pull the car out early because they were adding costs on top if the original invoice( imo he got scammed ) so now I've decided to help him finish the install.
Problem is I have no idea what harness they used. My cousin says they...
Fail on my half. Thanks
Do you think I could get away with 80w-90 with some friction modifier? I have that on hand for free at the shop. If not, no biggie
Did a simple drain and fill on both the trans and the rear diff. I used Mobil synthetic gear oil 75w-90. Now on turns, it seems the rear wheels "skip" like with a welded diff.
Did I use the wrong fluid?
thats what i'm saying! i told him to just save up to get both done at the same time but he insists.
can lead a horse to water but cant make him drink ya know?
hvyman: yea i can see that happening. his 7mgte smokes when cold but you just gotta warm it up and its fine. doesnt seem to be burning...
yea. i figured the cost to redo the seals with the head on will cost way more. a buddy is wondering how much it'll cost. i told him to wait until he does the MHG since the head will be off but he's afraid the leaky oil seals will damage the motor so wants to do it now.
anyone got a ballpark...
Just wondering what you guys have paid/charged to replace the 7mgte valve stem oil seals with the head ON the car. Seems like a time consuming procedure. Im totally capable but curious how much I would be charged at dealership/local shop.
LMK. Thanks
thanks ifyouaint1st and hvyman for the replies. i'll probably check out that TEL fuse and double check i even have it but if its in the engine bay, that seems the most practical spot to get at vs running a wire through the cabin to engine bay.
just looking for the best site to plug into for an ign. source in the engine bay for an accessory i installed that requires it.
any ideas? dont wanna take power from injectors since i believe there is ign. power that goes there..
i've searched but nothing came up in the search function...
