    '88 7MGTE 5 speed with Auto ECU

I have an '88 7MGTE with 5 speed transmission. I'm about to buy an auto ECU from another member here, but I have a question. Every thread I've run into only talks about swapping the auto ECU and the auto harness into a 5 speed car. Since I have a manual harness, how do I go about bypassing...

    Dead end cable identification

*IF* I remember correctly, 3 of the cables coming out of that plug do end up in a ground (or 2) right below the fuse box on the driver's side fender. I have to go visit the car and double check to make sure (the cables leading to those grounds are the same color though). Still, I'd like to...

Grounds that have positive charge.... wtf?

Aside from my other thread with a dead end cable, I've found myself in a bit of a stump. I had the not so brilliant idea to move a few things around in the engine, mainly the fuel injector resistor and the ignitor to right in front of the master brake cylinder. That required cutting a few...

    Dead end cable identification

No, it's not for the A/C fans. That plug is black and is lying in a corner somewhere right now. If I remember right, it has 4 wires leading to it.

    Dead end cable identification

The PS pump is on the opposite side of the engine. The cables aren't even long enough for it to go over the head where some of the other cables go through (oil pressure sensor, CPS, etc). The plug sits right next to the base of the fuse box (engine side).

Bump. I seriously still need an answer.

The little things that add up (simple mods, etc)

I mean the little things like the ones I've already mentioned: JJ's igniter ground, the 12v fuel pump relay, daisy chaining all the grounds, COP, so on so on so on so on. I've seen 2 different guides I believe for a short shifter, but not too intrigued by it. To explain it in different words...

The little things that add up (simple mods, etc)

Nick M: "The little things that add up" is a figure of speech. JJ's "repair" often gets referred to as a "mod" in a few of the threads mentioning it, so I call it a "mod" to keep the trend. You get the idea (I hope). I'm not concerned with simple semantics. suprarx7nut: Already done...

The little things that add up (simple mods, etc)

I've seen many threads talk about the little mods you can do to these cars but it's somewhat of a hassle to find them all. I'm talking about those small mods that eventually all add up and you start noticing a difference, like jetjock's igniter ground mod. Anybody care to mention a few so...

T61 Bolt on Turbo by Cx Racing

It's bolted on but that's about it. The igniter crapped out on me and I'm still not done with most things, so I haven't had a chance to use it.

    Fan clutch repair

If I knew who "Richard" was or if it's a coloquial joke or whatever, I might get it then.

    Fan clutch repair

IJ said no and with many reasons to support his answer. I listen to the man.

    Fan clutch repair

Aight, thanks 3P. Looks like I'll just turn on the tv while doing this then so I don't spaz out from impatience.

    Fan clutch repair

That's the thread, the first one. By the way, I removed the nuts and screws holding the fan clutch together, but I can't pry it open for the life of me. Am I missing something?

    Fan clutch repair

I can answer that ForcedTorque. I ran into a thread discussing just that while searching for the guide. If I remember correctly, there are 3 GTE clutches and 2 NA ones. The GTE ones were "drastically" different to the NA ones. I remember they had "the orange thing" to differentiate among the...

    Exhaust flow/horsepower?

Emission tests, on the other hand, might want you to keep your cat, even if just a high flow one. Depending where you live of course. Also, you could visit a muffler shop and have the exhaust made for your car in 3". Way cheaper than a brand-name exhaust and it works just fine.

    Fan clutch repair

I ran into a few guides but thought that the GTE fan clutch might have something different. That's why I requested for the one here in the forum. Thanks for the info though! I have an RC hobby shop just 2 minutes away. Didn't get the "Richard joke" but thanks anyways :p

    Fan clutch repair

Anybody know the correct part number for the Toyota fan clutch fluid? Also, does anyone by any chance have the link to the repair guide for the clutch? I believe Jeff Lange wrote one but I can't find it and it's not on the portal.
