Does anyone know or have experience Going straight to a map based tune on the DET3? My AFM has failed and it is quite hard to find a working replacement in Australia.
couldn't make it spool any quicker Pete, I just turned up the boost after installing the Lex afm and 550s. I adjusted the afm screw and since haven't hit fuel cut, even at 18-19 psi.
To be honest it seems that this turbo in particular is just slow to spool. I can recall it spooling slowly even...
Thats rather crap... So if I increased restriction and managed to get it to hold 16psi would it in fact be quicker or just hot air?
I see you have a similar setup, does yours drop off too?
It dyno'd 340 whp at 16psi and did the same on 17psi at the time. That was on stock Intercooler, with only a 1psi drop off at high revs.
Now with this larger Intercooler in drops off more.
Hi guys trying to keep this as brief and as informative as possible.
The issue:
Boost drop at high rpms. ~16psi down to ~11psi
...also worth mentioning it only makes 11psi max in 1st gear and 13 (also drops to 11) in 2nd. 3rd is where it will hit 16psi and then drop at around 5000+rpm...
I'd say thats what you would expect from 7psi. When I installed my 57 trim and ran 10-11psi it felt slower than the stock ct26. But now i'm running 16psi and it feels very good.
Yeah my boost creep issues were alleviated after porting my wastegate hole. But I don't think you need to go to 34mm. I think just 30-32mm was enough for mine.
My AFM did this a couple of weeks before it carked it. Ran like shit, threw code 31. Switched her off for the night to work it out in the morning and had no codes or problems in the morning. Ran like that for a few weeks and then the problem came back. Hope this is not the case for you!
