i checked mine and no shaft play. Now the thing refuses to boost though. I wonder i my ssautocrap WG got stuck open again. But last time it did that there was no noise.
i wasn't even trying time it, I was simply checking the firing pulses of the different cylinders to investigate my miss. I looked further into it and realized the left coils all blink at a slow, unsteady rate and the right ones blink rapidly perfect. and new plugs/fuel filter/all that crap...
Is this normal? The light breaks up and goes slow on #1, but not 6. They are all different. Some wires the light blinks very fast and consistent. There is a light miss/popping sound at idle (idle is still correct speed). Also I am getting missing at full boost for a while when it spool it up...
If you can hit full boost at all without blowing smoke I'm sure you don't haev a boost leak. Remember your CT26 most likely had stock dp and maybe intake, now that stuff is open and you can hear much better.
It came with the kit, guys. Leeme alone. I got exactly what I expected from the kit. And even though they are junk, every SS wg I have seen stick has stuck open, not closed.
Justin yes it is working fine now, thanks for asking....
if it has no other problems and keeps blowing try some of the green and red silicone heater hose from napa. I use that stuff for my turbo oil dump line. It is real flexible too so it would probably work for this.
Ok guys you were right I took it apart and greased the shaft and cleaned her up and it is fine now. And in response to the external wg comment, yes it is but my dump tube is rerouted so I could never hear it anyway.
I don't know where you guys get this. MK3 owners love spending money when it's not necessary. STOCK HEAD BOLTS ARE REUSABLE. If they weren't the TSRM would say so. I reused my stockers and ran them at 15psi until the bottom end got a rod knock. Here's the deal-check them to see if they've...
Ok, I've had my ssautochrome 4 bolt external wastegate on my car for about a week now and it has been fine. Then, yesterday, all of a sudden I boosted it once on the freeway to 12psi and it was fine, then I tried it again and it would struggle to hit even 4 psi. It doesn't want to boost in the...
yeah, thats what I figured...another useless turbo only addition. Figgie, there is no gas left in the shock. It has no resistance, it's all play. I would actually think N/A's would need them more than turbos because the rpm's rise quicker off the punch, causing the engine to sway.
Mine wasn't doing anything anyway because the shock was worn out. I know the N/A's don't have them...Well if you say so I guess I will. Has anyone ever run without it?
Is this thing realllly necessary? Mine is shot and I'm in the middle of a rebuild. I was just going to leave it out when I put everything back together. Is it really a needed part or no? I would think it just cuts down on the engine swaying back and forth a bit when you rev.
