    Question about DVD indash installation

That may be the best way to isolate your problem. Unplug the deck and any associated modules, check all your fuses, replace any blown ones, and see if the problem is still there.

    88 Supra build

Thanks, what do you mean by "cheap". I tried getting a new dash, but no luck there, which is why I took it out and upholstered it. The doors were equally messed up. The fabric I used looks a little weird in the pictures because of the pattern. It does look much better in person, though; at least...

    88 Supra build

The trunk area was missing pretty much everything, so I built a panel and added some much needed upholstery last night. Also took some better exterior pics.

    Question about DVD indash installation

Possibly, the ground supply to the unit is actually the parking light feed. This wire usually looks like ground with the power off. I've seen it a lot in the past, usually the parking light fuse will blow, though. Not sure if this is your issue, but it may be worth taking a look.

    88 Supra build

Well, first off, I'd like to thank all the people who helped me out with this car. I got some great tech advice as well as some parts from the for sale section. This car's come a long way from what it was a year and a half ago. Here are some before, during, and after pics. Basically, we put in a...

    After cat O2 sensor

That's what's in there right now, I just wanted to make sure there would not be any issues later on. Thanks

    After cat O2 sensor

Does anyone know if the after cat O2 sensor (California emmision?) on an 88 Supra (7MGE) is just a standard 4 wire? The direct fit replacement is pricey and I have a mounting plate to adapt a standard threaded O2. Thanks

    Throttle position sensor

Allright, I figured it out. I just needed to adjust the lever on the throttle body which turns the TPS a little bit more so that I could get a better adjustment on the TPS. I still don't know why there was a turbo model TPS on the car. Anyway, all is better; no more jerkiness. Thanks :biglaugh:

    Doesn't start... sometimes

If you take offthe driver side panel, you can locate the wire going to the lock cylinder. It's been a while, but I believe there is one wire there. The lock cylinder has a switch on the backside of it, yours may be broken or corroded. You should be able to ground this wire and trick the alarm...

    Throttle position sensor

O.K, I had them re-check the part #'s and this should be the correct part. I also found them online with pictures showing the nomn-turbo clocking, and it appears that I had the wrong one in the car. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the tabs behind the TPS have been tampered with. I...

    Throttle position sensor

*Edit* added some more info in the follow up posts below* So I have a bad TPS, and picked one up at the local Vato-zone. When I went to install it, I noticed mine was clocked vertically, and the new one was horizontal. I know this can't work because the throttle tabs won't hit anything on the...

    Codes 14, 51, and 71

Thanks, the light clears after a reset, but comes back after a month or so. I'll look into those areas. :joshers:

I'll try that, Thanks! The car used to have an aftermarket alarm, but I removed it a while back. Thanks!

    Codes 14, 51, and 71

Thanks, I found the procedure to test the EGR (code 71), but can't find anything specific for the code 14. I was hoping someone had a similar problem on their Supra.

    Codes 14, 51, and 71

I just pulled these codes from my little brothers car. Any thoughts on the code 14, all I could find is that it's ignition related. Could anyone point me in the right direction? The code 51, I'm not to concerned about, we got it before when his TPS went out. I suspect it may be bogus. The...

    just curious

x2, get yourself some antifreeze. Borrow money. By the way, you do know that the boiling temperature of water is lower than an antifreeze/water mix. Why were you running water?

    Oil Pan Questions

Use the Toyota FIPG sealant and nothing else. I have used a gasket with permatex stuff in the past only to have it leak. I re-did the job with this stuff and problem solved. It's well worth the $20 Toyota gets for a tube. Use it, you will not regret it.
