whats up fellas? im in sd, live in pb actually. proud owner of a flat black 87 turbo currently having the head machined and block cleaned up. outta commission for a couple more weeks but hope to be back to the boost soon...
haha... i like it too supraguy. not too shabby, though i plan on saving with the exhaust as i have a friend who works at a muffler shop and i plan on just buying a nice muffler and having them weld up some 3" pipe from the BIC ddp all the way back. so that brings it back to right around $5k...
for now, stock sawblades with some z rated yokohama rubber.
i really like the adr m sports, im thinking 18x7.5 in the rear with 18x7 up front.
probably gonna be one of my last upgrades though, im kinda going for the sleeper look for now. waaaaay too many of these kids in their mommy and...
yeah, the gasket was in pretty bad shape especially towards the rear, looks like it just cooked back there. plus when i was removing the head bolts there were two in the back that were barely more than hand tight... go figure. im gonna be getting in there today and cleaning a bunch of that crap...
nice, i love that fucking movie.
"Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up, too; 'cause chicks dig dudes with money."
em? engine management?
could i get away with a piggyback at those power levels or would i be looking at a standalone?
also what do you guys think about the upgraded ct26's at that power level, will it be pushing too hard? i'd like to keep the stock manifold for now so i've been looking at the...
You guys wanna play a game?
Ok lets assume you are just getting your freshly, rebuilt to stock, 7mgte back with the addition of a mhg and arp head studs(with all necessary machine work of course). Your goal is a 400hp daily driver on stock internals and you have 5 grand to spend on goodies...
^exactly^
supracool like i told you before in the other thread, if you don't know or are unsure about what may be wrong do yourself a favor, BEFORE you start wrenching on shit, and have your car checked by qualified personnel. i understand the desire to want to diagnose and fix everything...
^^^^amen to that...
:nono:
you cant just go wrenching on random shit and hope its going to fix a specific problem you have. diagnose it or in your case get it diagnosed and THEN go about fixing it. or don't, your call brother...
thanks for the input skip, just wanted to let you know that i've been following your grassroots challenge build and have been very impressed with what you guys have done with that car on the small allowable budget. i'm very excited to see how it turns out and will be rooting for you guys. good...
:1zhelp: hey guys....any ideas here? i could really use some help. am i not asking my questions properly or is this just something that has been done thousands of times before and nobody is interested anymore? :1zhelp:
my main question is what could cause oil to be sitting on top of my rear 3...
ok, so after a few interruptions and some minor delays :3d_frown: i was able to finally get under the hood this morning and pull the dang head. it came off relatively easy, 2 of the stock head bolts in the rear on the exhaust side had worked themselves so loose i didn't even have to break them...
wow, well done. i know this threads been dead for a bit but i just wanted to let you know that this thread has been a HUGE help to me. i've been under the hood of my 87 turbo on and off for the last couple of days doing this same thing(my first time) and have had this page up permanently. one of...
yup, no garage anymore :wtc: so i've been out behind my apartment for the last couple of days. actually it hasn't been half bad as the neighborhood i live in pacific beach, is a relatively young area and i have already had a couple of guys who are fellow supra lovers, wander over to check out...
ahh ok, i was under the impression that the a/c was a power robber so thank you for clarifying that. i think i'll keep it. i've gone ahead and started a new build thread here:
http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80179
i am hoping to get the head off tomorrow and the block out...
