Over many years of seeing port matched & polished manifolds (intake & exhaust) & cyl. heads the surfaces have always been polished to "as smooth as glass" finish. So i don't know why it should, all of a sudden, change from that. :dunno:

As far as I know Toyota did not & does not build interference engines so I think we're pretty safe with any Toyota engine.

Exactly where did you find the leak & how did you find it?

Would you know if the Tacoma or Tundra fan is used on any other Toyota model because we don't get those here in Australia. The only Toyota pickup (ute here) we get is the Hilux.

On mine I couldn't see any leaks then found, one day out of the blue, that coolant was dripping from the radiator cap. Easy fixed.

Interesting that you took it back to a Toyota dealer to have it repaired. (Sounds crazy)That is the last place I would take a Toyota for servicing/repairs. I wouldn't even take my Camry there. Your choice buddy.

To JMCBoost & IJ, I take back what I said about checking hardness. I found out from my engine building guru that indeed some cyl heads, after being cooked, can be effected by a degree of annealing. I have learnt something. Also some cyl heads are more susceptable to it than others. Please accept...

You don't need to check hardness at all!! The aluminium structure doesn't change just because it has been sitting for sometime. Get it crack tested first & then check the cyl block mating face for flatness & roughness, these 3 items are absolutely critical! When those 3 items are OK then go...

The temp gauge on mine reads just about half way on the gauge at full operating temp. I'll have to get back to you about the oil press gauge, I cant quite remember. P.S. Who put those disgusting wheels on your Supe??? :barf: !!!!
