Turned the key car tried to start, at that exact same time i heard a muted boom not to loud but any boom from the engine bay is not a good sign. No smell, no smoke but i did feel a vibration. My gut feeling tells me its the starter. Now the car will crank but wont fire. Things that i did...
Iwannadie, jdmma70, thanks for that tip bout using a 92 starter. Im sure thats gona help. Hvyman i have fat hands in arms lol, thats why i hated doing this 5 years ago.
Dsm_tuner260 i might think of the tranny drop. Once the north east heatweave stops I called napa and they have one is...
Four or five years ago i replaced my starter. I didnt enjoy that and dreading doing it again. One of those repairs you say to yourself, ah dont mind paying someone to do this one. All i used was a long extension, swival. Well any ho, who has a better way than me, i dont have a engine lift...
I have a 89na, with a bhg, My desire is to put a 7mgte engine and everything included to make this engine swap complete. Is there someone in the maryland pg area that would do it. Thanks
My 89 n/a is my beater, just it has a bhg which im working on at the moment. I apprciate the responses. Funny thing though when you look at some use cars. You might get a good price, then they say the tranny does not work. Which drives u to fix what u have. At least u know who owns it.

Buying a built engine which is logical, having it put it would...
I was told the crank is toast, the key fell out, bearings and possible a new pulley saying the threads are screwed up. I bought a bolt and put it in. Even though damage was already done. Alot of woble in the crank shaft pulley. Will idle fine, just when u give it gas all rod knocking.
Its a import tuner shop here in maryland. Im thinking, just my opion he's more experiece with 2j motors than my 7m. I did post in the northeast region
on sf last week. There just a handful of 7m owners who do post
I was thinking that was high quote myself. Just being with a car in the northeast is not enjoyable. Guess i should pay him his 75 for check out get it towed back.
I was quoted 2200 dollars for repair, reason being the crankshaft bolt came out while driving. This was my back up car. Do to the fact i need a vechile im going to bite the bullet and have it done. Can't afford to much down time because of my job. So the j series engines would be an option at...
