    Mix matched valve seals??

hvyman, yes I realized this when I bought a set of supertech valve seals. The exhaust side are made of viton and are blue in color. The intake side are made of polyacrylic and are brown in color. The seals that I removed were brown and black on the intake side and brown and black on the exhaust...

    Mix matched valve seals??

Hello. I replaced my head gasket 12 years ago. The machine shop I used told me to leave the camshafts in the cylinder head and bring it to them assembled. They hot tanked it, cut the gasket surface and returned it to me and told me it's all set. $400 was the charge but that supposedly included...

    Pyrometer install

I need to install a pyrometer, I know the best place is pre turbo but there is really no where to get an accurate reading on the stock exhaust manifold. Where should i put it? I have the turbo and exhaust manifold off the engine.

    Crankshaft " Pulley" ????!!!

This is the ONLY post that makes any logical sense. Not press fit guys, thats why there is a BOLT securing the timing gear/crankshaft harmonic balancer assembly. Guess you "mechanics" haven't looked at anything but a Toyota engine. Go look at the crankshaft harmonic balancer on a straight...

    Crankshaft " Pulley" ????!!!

That engine must have been beat on pretty hard, because mine came off by hand.

    1998 Contour SVT

I bought this car for $2K in 2010. Limited production only 4400 made in 1998 and only 11,000 made total 1998-2000. I thought I stole this car. First sign of trouble was only under a load next to a wall, I could hear ticking like an exhaust manifold leak. After 2 years of driving it the...

    electrical problem

That 15 amp EFI fuse you blew suppies the positive circuit to the EFI main relay, the TCCS ECU, the circuit opening relay, the oxygen sensor, the ISC valve and the check connector. Confirm you are receiving 12 volts at these components and then you can start testing components for defects.

    electrical problem

You have power at the W terminal because that is the power circuit for the actual check engine light, the ecu provides the ground to illuminate it. The ECU isn't being powered via terminals +B1 and +B which both are spliced into the +B terminal you grounded out which is all recieving power from...

    electrical problem

You probably damaged the EFI main relay as well. Do you have 12 volts at the B+ terminal since you replaced the EFI fuse?

    89 white package

Painted trim and rims are the only way to tell if it's a white package. You want a rare mk3 get a 92 or a turbo A.

Obsolete MKIII parts; are there any?...yet?

I needed driver's side view mirror glass a couple years ago, the dealer took my money and the next day told me it was discontinued. I ended up going to a local auto glass shop and had no problem.

Check engine light does not come on anymore

Check the EFI main relay. Did you disconnect the negative battery cable before you swapped ECU's?

7mgte going extremely lean only at WOT. I believe its a wiring / signal issue. Help

How about checking the fuel pump relay and resistor? http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=FI&P=114 You mentioned checking the water temp sensor and oxygen sensor, did you actually check them? Water temp sensor...

    removing harmonic damper nut?

Remove the plate between the engine and transmission to expose the flywheel/flexplate teeth and jam the flywheel/flexplate with a prybar.

4 plugs broken, can you tell me what these wires go to?

The oil pressure sensor wire connector "slides" onto the little nub of the oil pressure sensor.
