Where's the best place for A/C recharging?

I'm on a bugdet, but just wondering if taking my car a low-end shop (Pep Boys, Meineke), the dealer or a specialist would make any difference.

Any bad experiences? Talk to me.....

Well I found a dealership that only charges 140 for everything including the refrigerant so I'll prob do that.

Quotes for full system recharge:

Pep Boys - $170
Meineke - $150
Ralph Schomp Honda - $140* Winner so far.

I'm assuming your car still uses R12..if that's the case you have to take it to one of those shops because you cannot buy R12 yourself. If it takes R134A just fill it up yourself.

Actually, its been retrofitted for r134a so I can do that shit myself?

Oh, and I need a FULL recharge. The system is completely empty now. I'll need 2 pounds of refrigerant.
