Where does this plug into? 1988 7MGE

Bought this car as a project and I plugged in all the connections to see if the car would run. Nothing happens. Only thing that works so far are my headlights, door ajar light, chime when the key is in the ignition, hazards and the light on the door panels. Looked a bit more and found that I missed this connection near the back of the engine. Looked everywhere where it could plug into and I couldn't see anything. Wondering if you guys know where the other end is. Here are some pictures. I can take some more pictures if needed. Thanks.

Wish I knew. I've got an 87 NA and the same plug isn't attached.
Everything works and runs on my car though (except the interior dome light and the passenger side door lock button).

What does the car turn over? Have you checked all the fuses?

that looks like the plug for for the EGR but then again i thought only post 89 had those plugs.

you might have a post harness. you should check that.

I think that goes to the horn mounted by the brake booster - for the alarm. For your no start issue, check for a square plug below fuse box underhood.

AbsoluteSpeed, nothing happens when I try to start it. No click or anything. I'll look for the plug that Vedubbin mentioned and see what happens then.
