when i shift hard, I see smoke come through my shifter boot

What could it be. I just got my 89 turbo supra 3 days ago. I knew it was going to have problems I just wasn't sure what and thats one. Also I have no blow off valve on it right now. Yes, I know I shouldn't be romping on it but I just couldn't resist. I am waiting for my hks bov. Well give me some info guys I'll be out of town for a week so when I get back I hope I'll know what to fix I HEART MY MK3

Hahaha! I roffled at your title.

What color is it? I'm going to take a wild guess and say your exhaust is leaking somewhere near the shifter boot, probably where the downpipe meets the cat. It could be as easy as changing a gasket or tightening some bolts, or you might have a hole in your exhaust =\

i had the same problem with my car. when i used to drive my car hard i would occasionaly see smoke from the shifter boot it was cause the hose on the back of the head to the heater union was leaking.

True,is it exhaust or electrical?
Hopefully it is just a simple ex leak!
