What is this piece of door hardware called?

Hi all...

I was just curious what the piece of hardware attached with 2 screws on the door jamb is called. It appears to be a guide of some sort. I've noticed it isn't on all MA70s. It is in a couple of illustrations in the Body section of the 89 TSRM, but it isn't identified.

It's called a "door stabilizer."

It's on targa model cars for added chassis stability.

I still think it's for raising up the door a bit to seal the window nicely under the rubberseals.

My driversside is from some older car - doesn't close as easily as the passenger one, that has the thing installed (have to raise it a bit for it to go smoothly).

Maybe your hinges are worn Valge..? I can't even really move my doors up and down even if I try (when open of course).

They are worn, yes, but looking at the design of this thing...the sides of it aren't straight, or?

Just as an FYI followup, Nashman appears to be right. I went to the local import PNP today and these were only on targas.

Zumtizzle... I'm near Bond and Bradshaw. I love the light blue... no matter what other people refer to it as... LOL. The Z is my next project after I finish the freshening up on the Supra. It's a 74 260. I originally got it to do a SBC swap, but have decided just build the L26 up instead. What year is your ZX?

i think the frist supra traga did not have them i think they were put in in 87 or 88 but cna be wroung thou
