Ok, I have a freshly rebuilt engine, block was completely re-done everything thinkable is brand new, the head was a "rebuilt" from E-bay(I know no flaming needed) Ok. so I have what I believe and many others after listening to it valve Tick. I'm going to go check valve clearances but noticed a few interesting things while taking the covers off. First took the intake side off noticed on a few of the shim's some scarring. Also decided to run the car for a few seconds with the cover off and watched and listened the ticking sound was a lot more pronounced another reason why leaning in that direction,while watching noticed the 1,2,3 lifters were spinning in a counter clockwise direction a lot faster then 4,5,6 like 10-20 revolutions to a quarter of a revolution of the others. So are the lifters supposed to spin and if so at significantly different speeds and the shim scarring is that normal or a possible problem ?
