Urgent: decent shop in fremont, ca?

car split a coolant hose under the t-stat housing last night, and is sitting in fremont. need to tow it to a shop this morning, but am not that familiar with the area. suggestions? i'd rather not take it to the dealer. thanks

If you're referring to the 90° hose just below the t-stat housing it's not hard to change out yourself. About 5-10 mins to yank the intake/accordian, a couple of 12mm bolts and you can move the PS res out of the way and the hose is right there. Remove the 2 clamps with some pliers and take the hose down to Kragen to get a match of the same size, will be about $10. Don't forget to pick up some new 50/50 coolant while your there. Coolant capacity is 8.7 qts but you will use way less than that since you probably didn't lose all of it when the hose blew. However, perfect time for a full coolant flush if desired.

Install new hose (I like to use a little red RTV on the outside of the fittings), bolt up the PS res, install intake, fill with coolant, done in under an hour for $20 instead of $120 at the shop.
