Cruising to work and "BAM" the car shudders then suddenly loses power and barely runs. Fortunately I was just exiting the freeway, so I was able to limp it into a gas station. Huge billowing white steam, but I had no idea where it was coming from. It looked like it was coming out of the coil pack to me... Had it towed to a shop that is bending me over for $200 to do a "blowdown or letdown" test? I can't remember what he called it. This is after the $83 to diagnose the initial problem. He said this is a complex test that will indicate any and all engine problems. Is he killin me for the letdown test?
After he told me the turbo hose blew, I have been reading in here a lot to try to figure out something, but I'm not the greatest mechanic.
Is it possible that the steam and water from the hose affected the coil pack, and that is why the spark plugs were missing?
Forgive the ignorant questions guys, and thanks for your thoughts...
