Will the mk4 v16x 6 speed bolt into the mk3 with a w58?

The mk3 has the W58 5speed
The mk4 also has the W58 5speed,the V16x 6speed is an upgrade option
Is there some reason why the 6speed wont go into the mk3?

Different bell housing on the 2jz compared to the 7M. Also the V160 is longer so the shifter will not line up. I am also thinking there is a lot of transmission tunnel modification needed to physically fir the V160 .

Just get a PGS Dog box W58. If you have those thousands for a MKIV V160, strait cut gears actually may be cheaper and stronger than a V160.

sorry couldn't resist.........It has been done, lots of work and not cheap. For the cost might as well pick up an R154 AND have it rebuilt by PGS..............or pick up a cd009 and custom fit it.

The real problem with the V160 is that it mated to a 3.133 rear end on the MK-IV. You cannot get that ratio on the MK3, so you will have gear ratios that are way too low to be useful.
