Hey guys, I am in the process of rebuilding(refreshing) my motor right now, and am going through the process of having my head and block properly surfaced to meet metal head gasket standards. My question is, how are the titan metal head gaskets in comparison to the HKS or the cometic? I have heard that the Titan and the cometic are the same gasket, but with the titan name instead.. is this true? I am most likely going to purchase this one and am making sure that it is a quality part and cannot see why it isn't.

Titan is made by Cometic. It's on par with the other bead type MHGs, including the Greddy and HKS. With all MHGs, the block and head surfaces have to be decked to meet the RA (smoothness) spec...for the Cometic it's 50 RA. I highly suggest you determine how much material is removed from the block/head before you buy a MHG. That is what tells you the MHG thickness you'll need.

I will be sending my motor out soon to have all of the necessary prep work for a metal head gasket done. I am going to have drift motion do the machine work, and have heard they have excellent results with their surfacing... Any info to the contrary or recommendations as to where i should go?
