My stock temperature gauge in my 87 supra turbo does not work. I am pretty sure there is a "short" somewhere in the wiring. How do I go about tracking this down? Would it be the gauge or the wiring or harness? I'm new to wiring and all, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks

What do you mean by it doesn't work? I would just guess by frequency that it's either your temp sensor connector came loose or the sensor it's self is faulty. Give me more info about how it doesn't work.

It doesn't work by the needle doesn't move at all. Where would I find the connectors to see if they are loose?

Thanks, let me know how I can give more information.
Thanks

Still working on this problem...ended up being stuborn and getting a new cluster to see if my actual gauge was messed...but it wasn't...
I will do that test by taking off the connector and see if it helps...I don't have a test bulb like it mentions...
What else can I do to figure out if I needa new sensor?
Thanks

Well I took off the connector and took some sand paper to the sensor side, the connector was a bit rusty...
Pushed it back on...idled for 8+ minutes...nothing.
Took off the connector again...pushed it on farther...

Startedit up...stared at the gauge at noticed it VERY slowly moving...
Idled for 10 minutes sharp and it was a few lines below approx. half way on the gauge.
Is it working now?
