quick run down bc I'm on my phone and it sucks. bought the car with a bhg. its done and ready to go. stock except a rt dp. gets boost hard and fast but the car sputters or surges at high rpms... only in 3rd and higher gears

I hear what sounds like a boost leak while I'm driving. would a boost leak cause this?
shifts fine, I noticed the gear doesn't matter. at wot I cat get the car to go to the limiter without it cutting out..
any ideas?

Careful when you use the word surge. Surge is actually a term used when talking about turbo charger performance.
If you're stating that the car jumps and stutters when under boost, it sounds like you may be hitting fuel cut.
Pull codes, and check back with us.
Check your boost hoses while you are at it.

my friend took it for a spin, says its the wastegate opening at full boost. we popped the hood and there were a few vac lines that fell off.. I guess that would explain the rough stsrt up idle..

It sounds like you left your waste gate unplugged though.

Ran, ok until the boost came in, the it hiccuped as long as it was there. Had AFM codes. Checked voltage at the AFM, replaced it, no more hiccup

The AFM is new... Yea, it's more of a hiccupr like your stating, but only 2nd-5th gears when it hits full boost. I replaced all the visible vaccume lines today bc i didn't have much time.. I'll have codes tomarrow.
I can't wait to get it running right, I'm already impressed on how strong the car pulls and it's not even running top notch yet :naughty:
