Hey, I'm new to this forum and semi new to the world of supra. It's gonna be a long story but I'll try to explain everything as succinct as possible.
The basic lowdown is I had the engine swapped out for a JDM 7MGTE that was rebuilt. After the swap I took it to Toyota and had a wheel bearing replaced and new brake pads and new front brake discs. At this time I was in Portland, Oregon. A week later I drove the car down to Santa Clara, Ca (on my way to Austin, Texas). While going through the hills north of SF, I noticed the engine was hesitating and jerking while going up hill at about 70-75 mph, this continued all the way to Santa Clara (where I am now, chillin with the fam). The next day me n my uncle changed out the power steering fluid (which was black) and brake fluid (also black) and transmission fluid and differential fluid. We had no idea how to address the hesitation issue but here is how it goes: While the car is cold, the only issue is a high idle (1300 rpm) and a tendency to not downshift during acceleration. After getting warmed up the transmission (auto) shifts normal... but while braking the cel will turn on and while stopped (ie: at a light) the rpms will drop to about 600 and the engine will sputter but not die. again after accelerating the cel turns back off and all is normal (except for the speedometer cable squealing like a pig getting slaughtered). At the end of said drive and going through say, a parking lot at slow speeds, or idling, the engine will lope and sputter intermittently. The really apparent hesitation and jerking has not reoccurred since I arrived in Santa Clara, but I haven't had the car under heavy acceleration in fear I may invoke it again :/... Also I checked the engine light and got a code 31 (but let the record show my uncle also sprayed the afm with brake cleaner in an attempt to clean it ><, however this issue occurred before that incident)
I know this is a long explanation but I appreciate all who took the time to read it... I thank you in advance for any advice or tips. My uncle took the car to his friends shop today to see if we could get a clear cut diagnosis to see if the afm is causing said issues, but I wanted to post here to see if someone thinks differently (since an afm is 400+ to replace and I've already destroyed my savings with the engine swap and brakes)
