So I have a 7m-ge mk3, and i was coming home from work and i saw that i was smoking real bad. My car never smokes so i was like oh shit whats wrong, so i pulled over and looked to see if anything was on fire or anything like that. Nothing was out of the ordinary other than the smoke, so i decided to keep going because i only had a few miles to the house and it started overheating so i basically just took it out of gear and rolled it most of the way. After i got home i saw that my coolant wasnt the yellowish color it is supposed to be it was almost a chocolate milk color. So i know im going to flush the radiator, and im most likely going to change the thermostat, but any other suggestions?

Sounds like it might be a BHG. You can check the compression, check your oil for coolant, or/and get a coolant test kit at the parts store to see if it's oil you see in the coolant. Flushing isn't going to repair the problem since by what you say it kind on just happened with the smoking and discolored coolant. Don't drive it anymore until you find out, Coolant in the oil will take care of your bearings real quick.

I already checked for coolant in the oil because i thought it might be my head gasket. so no coolant in the oil. I actually just changed the oil and filter today. I also watched my oil hand to see if it showed any drop while it was smoking and there was no drop in oil pressure.

Are u low in coolant? Any smoke coming out of the tail pipe?

Well i wasnt low in coolant until last night but yea the smoke was coming out of the tail pipe. I thought it was the head gasket when i got home but there wasnt any coolant in the oil also it wasnt blue smoke.

When I had bhg no coolant got into the oil either, was the other way around. I drained the coolant and let it sit over night, it had a thick layer of oil in it.
