Hello there supra community, Im currently stripping and inspecting a R154. Im from New Zealand and its a JDM Gearbox (if it makes any difference)
Im replacing the 1st gear thrust washer and anything else while its apart aswell
But the question i have is the bearings on the main shaft are sealed (as in they have there dust caps installed) the main input shaft bearing and the center housing bearing. Is this normal? as in factory toyota? it seems abit odd i would have thought bearing life would be much longer with cooler oil running through it
The Lay shaft (bottom shaft) have all open roller style bearings
I know my old w58 wasnt sealed but ive never had a r154 apart hence asking this question
Thanks!
