Rust in the coolant system

Please see the attached pics and give me your opinions on the red rust film and particles I keep finding inside my hoses. I've been replacing my hoses and every time I change one I find this horrible film and crud inside of them. Some of the hoses also had a white crust on the ends. It looks like the film you see on a neglected battery terminal. Sorry about the pic its the best shot I could get of the inside of the hose. Like a dumb _ss I thought about cutting the hose open after I threw it away.

Let me give you some history on my supra that might help. Toyota Supra 1989, 7mgte, no codes, no overheat. I purchased the car about 1 year ago from the original owner with approximately 37k miles on the odometer. I know for a fact that the coolant was the original Toyota coolant from the manufacturer when I drained and flushed the system the first time. Yes! nineteen year old coolant. The coolant looked horrible. I flushed the system with distilled water several times and did not use any chemical flushes. I keep the coolant at a 50/50 mix and every time I change the oil I loosen the stop cock on the radiator, drain it and refill. The coolant now looks fairly clean at every refill. The engine does not overheat and has no other problems to speak of.

Am I throwing good money away on a block that might be damaged from rust or some sort of chemical reaction? Thanks for your opinions and help.

there really isnt a clear answer unless you tear down the block. Odds are its fine if you get it chemically flushed, it should get rid of the majority of rust build up.
