For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here's the link.

I've got this exact problem...intermittent no start with the click from the starter relay under the passenger kick panel. I pulled and inspected the starter relay and everything looks perfectly fine. Fought with trying to start for half an hour yesterday before giving up and pushing starting it. I turn it off immediately after and it starts no problem, so that is why I'm assuming it's the wiring described in this mod.

My question is that smaller connector that runs to the starter. Is that connector just a simple spade connector? I thought it was a proper clip connector of some sorts...I had a bear of a time getting it off in my head swap. Should I be trying to cut that connector off and reusing that for my new wire from the relay or will a spade connector actually work properly there?

My car is an 89 turbo if that makes any difference.

Run a jumper from the B+ terminal to the spade terminal on the starter, if it starts up you know you need to do the relay mod. The starter connector doesn't need to be spliced, it actually slides right onto the terminal of the relay, and then you need to buy the female spade crimp connector and slide it onto the starter terminal (it wont clip in anymore, but its more than tight enough to stay in contact)

The only problem with that is I have to have a point where I know it's not starting on me to give that a shot ;)

I've got a good new battery (tests good) and a brand new starter and am still experiencing the same problem that I had before my build, so I'm 90% sure that it's the problem that the mod describes.
