Question regarding auto trans fluid change

According to the TSRM about 1.7 quarts should drain from the transmission and be refilled under a normal drain and refill. But in this thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/sh...one go about getting it all out and replaced?

By taking the tranny out, droping, and draining the torque converter and tranny.

Or by hooking up to a flush machine and paying the service fee.

A flush machine is best but you can disconnect one of the cooler lines and do it yourself. Either run the engine for short periods or disable spark and fuel (unplug the CPS) and crank it. Pump out a few quarts at a time while adding the same in new fluid back. When the fluid coming out changes color you're done. Hook the line up and check fluid the usual way ie; hot and after shifting through all positions. If you're smart you'll install a tranny filter in the cooler line. Preferably a bypass type, a real hydraulic filter, or something like a Trasko combo unit. If not a good oil filter like a Purolator PureOne will do.
