i've searched & read a lot of the porting & polishing threads on here, but i had a ? about it i didn't see an answer to. 'scuse me for asking, i just don't know...does porting the intake manifold do anything "negative" to the air flow readings from the computer? engine run weird or anything? re-tuning or anything? -such a noob

If I understand what you're asking about, you have nothing to worry about when porting the intake manifold.

The only things it really does is remove turbulence allowing air to move more freely into the engine. For the most part the air coming into the system is already accounted for once it passes the AFM, it may move a little swifter, but not enough to throw off the amount of air the computer is expecting to be in the cyl. by a given point in time.
