ok... so my car is overheatin a bit.. with a 180 degree therm... and only after you drive it a long time... like 30 - an hour... and then you go to park... it smokes a bit... it hasnt really been driven in like 3 or 4 months... and the smoke smells like when you put new gaskets on when you change a head gasket... if anyone knows what im talking about... and also... when you are just driving... and you come to a complete stop... the car just like idles real rough from 500 to 750 rpms jumping back and for like 3 seconds then just dies... pisses me off so much... but please someone help... i havnt done it yet but i kinda figured could be compression... im gonna go do a test... oh and problems with the motor to help the people that plan to help me with this mathmatical problem... the lifters on the exhaust knock a lil bit... and i barely barely have a rod knock... and my oil hasnt been changed in a while... but all is getting fixed soon... please help... and sorry for the novel..... thanks

try checking your timing first...I know this sounds weird....i redid my timing wrong one time and it was making a heck of a racket....so i redid the timing and busted out the timing gun and i was WAYYYYYY OFFF!!...took care of that now it runs like a champ:] worth a try before rebuild....Check my sig for rebuild if yah need it...;]
