Oil pressure sensor question

I have two 7M's in the garage, one is an '87 and one is an '89. I am putting the '89 engine into my '87 car.
My question is, the oil pressure sensors are different in size and appearance. The '87 is large (wide) while the '89 is small (narrow). Did Toyota change the functioning of the sensor between those years, or can I still use my '87 harness for the '89 sensor?

you sure on the "narrow" one it isn't a jdm engine? I know the US engines have this bulky sensor and the jdm has something the size of my thumb. if thats the case just use the bulky one since the smaller one doesn't work with the gauges here. but your in canada huh, does that make a difference?? I get lost after this point.

Don't use a JDM oil pressure sensor unless you want to start frying stuff.

As far as I know the '89 engine was Canadian. I may be JDM though, I'll swap it out.
