I intended on putting on the 7M oil pressure sending unit onto my 1JZ so I can at least have my stock gauge (no matter how inaccurate) working. I picked up the oil filter housing bolt listed on 1jz-gte.com (links to MKIV.com tech section)....
anyways...everything worked great putting engine back together but last night I went to put on the oil pressure sending unit (bell looking piece) and it didn't fit!!!
Is there a difference between the units on the pre-89 7m and the latter ones? mine came off an 87 turbo....I was going to grind down the housing just a bit, but I fear to make it fit, I'd practically have to grind it down to nothing....which I am not comfortable with....
any ideas on how to get this to work? or what I need to pick up?
