Is there an easy way to get rid of the big cast aluminum oil filter mount on my 2JZGE, It looks just like the 1JZ one. I tried using a 7MGE filter stud, but the threads in the block are 3/4-16 (same as the oil filter itself) but the 7M block has slightly bigger metric threads on the block side. Even if the threads had been the same it wouldn't work because the surface that the stud seats on is recessed deeper than the surface that the filter would seal on. On a 7M these two surfaces are almost in the same plane so that half of the stud sticks out and can thread into the filter. I basically need something that looks like a 2" long pipe with 3/4-16 threads on both ends, if there isn't anything out there I'll just make it. I don't like having that big filter mount in there taking up space.

Based on these pics it looks like it would be worth a try, or do you already know it will work?

All JZ mounts are interchangable. The 2JZ-GE has no oil cooler, just swap it out for a JZ-GTE one, and hook up the lines.

I made my own fitting, worked good, I'll have to get a better pic when the engine is back out of the car.

I took a 3/4-16 bolt and cut it to ~2" long then drilled a hole down the center on a lathe and used a nut to lock it into the block with enough sticking out to thread the filter onto. Simple but effective.
