I'm having the exact same problem you are. It is in fact my heater VSV. Start the car, turn on the heat and push up on the little little valve bracket thingy. When depressed mine will stay up and allow me to have heat until I turn down the temp below 85 then it'll close and I'll get cool air again.

I have a WTB thread in the respective section, but nothing so far! I'm thinking I'll just pony up the $150 and buy a new Toyota one.

The title says it all.....I dont know what else to say, my heater blows out cold air on the hottest climate control setting.

This is a quite common problem. The vacuum line that runs to your VSV has a hole in it somewhere. Check the line (it's a hard vaccum line that runs atop the firewall) get some electrical tape and wrap that sucka up nice as u can. That will be a short term fix unitil u can replace the line, or just get some new vaccum line and run it from the T connection to the VSV and wolla u will have heat:icon_bigg .

my vsv went out last year. i took off the line that runs across the firewall to the vsv and moved it from the bottom to the top of the unit. heat on/heat off.
