Ok heres the deal......I have a friend who has an MR2, one that has a skyline, one that has an all-trac celica and of course theres me with my supra, obviously the best of the four. So one of my other friends decides ya know what, im sick of driving my trailer park redneck pick-up and I want to buy a 300zx, so im in the loop but not taking anyones heat by stealing their car idea. He went to ME of course because MR2 guys dont know shit about cars:icon_razz He asked me about this car.....quite honestly, i dont know a damn thing in terms of reliability. I threw all the stats at him for all the years, but i dont know their mechanical history. From what I have ever heard in my life was to get a 92 or newer because of the 91 Nissan recall. He IS looking at the JDM models of the 300zx btw. Knowing him, its going to be an auto hands down. Any help?

If I were to ever purchase a 300zx (cause I would, they are sexy lookin) I would have to put an I6 in there. I hate V6s, the turbo L28 or RB26 wou,ld be hottt

I have 2 Z31 turbos, an 87 and an 89 and the airflow setup is horrid. They don't even have an intercooler and the 88-90 use a T25 turbo at 4 psi. The 87 uses a T3 at 6.5 psi but the turbo is tucked behind the motor mount so the intake pipe does a tight s-curve right at the turbo inlet. The VG30 engine is a solid plant which has been used for a long time but performance upgrades for the Z31 at least are a build-your-own affair. So if he gets a Z13 and wants to upgrade, let me know. I have built a few helpful upgrades for the intake and exhaust.:naughty:

Yeah, they look 80's but with T-Tops and a turbo they can still be fun.:biglaugh:

I think the Z32's are awesome looking cars. My friend has a 450 HP TT. The biggest things I can remember about them is the back two spark plugs are a bitch to get to if they need changed or gapped. And the Alternators pretty commonly fail...I think they have some electrical gremlins of a few sorts. But definitely nice cars!!!

I'd rock one if I had all the other cars I wanted in my garage as well. LIke everyone has been saying they are a pain in the ass to work on, and can be pricey too for parts and for insurance. Definitely get the 2 seater model!

hm...well, since you are all lazy... lols... nissan decided it would be a wonderful idea to mount the intake mani and headers on the SAME side of the cylider head, and the fuel rail is wedged inbetween the two... FUCKING AWESOME IDEA...... the fuel will actually boil w/ out the compressor, maybee even w/ it :dunno:

i just find that funny
